Workshops, training and keynotes

Tools for navigating competing priorities, constant interruptions, uncertainty, and the challenge of using AI without losing critical thinking skills.

Problems I tackle

Critical thinking alongside AI. Using AI effectively while questioning its output, applying independent judgment, and maintaining the ability to think critically and solve problems.

Competing priorities and overload. Too much to take in, too many demands to manage, and not enough time to think clearly about what matters most.

Distractions and interruptions. Messages, meetings, and task switching break up the day and make it difficult to return to focused work.

Overthinking and stalled progress. Decisions take longer than they should, important tasks keep getting put off, and knowing what to do does not always lead to doing it.

Change and uncertainty. Shifting priorities, unfamiliar situations, and setbacks make it harder to think clearly, decide what comes next, and keep moving.

My approach

Writing is one of the simplest, most effective ways to get a better handle on what's happening in our own heads.

Research shows that structured writing can reduce mental load, help us examine our thinking more objectively, and close the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it.

JournalingFix turns that science into short, targeted writing protocols for the moments when our thinking gets in the way of our progress.

Each uses a deliberate sequence of questions to cut through mental noise, challenge assumptions, break unproductive patterns, and move important work forward.

A few minutes of targeted writing can help prevent hours lost to overthinking, distraction, or stalled progress.

And with repeated use, you start to recognize your own patterns: what trips you up, why it happens, and how to get ahead of it.

About Áine

Áine Kmen (pronounced Awnya) is the founder of JournalingFix and a speaker focused on cognitive overload, decision-making, and the science of moving from intention to action.

Before founding JournalingFix, she spent more than a decade leading marketing and growth for startups across three continents, working inside fast-moving environments where clarity, focus, and rapid decision-making directly impacted results.

Today, she helps leaders, founders, and teams move forward on what matters, with easily accessible practices that reduce mental clutter, improve decision quality, and restore forward progress.

Her work blends established brain science, performance science, and practical workplace application into tools audiences use immediately.

Audience Feedback

“What stood out most was how it helped clear the feeling of overwhelm and mental fatigue. It gently broke things down into manageable pieces, making it easier to process what’s in front of you and then shift into your next task with clarity and ease. It’s the kind of practice that doesn’t just feel good in the moment—it actually changes how you move through your day.”

“JournalingFix prompts help me put aside demanding tasks when I need to focus on other things, and they’ve helped me get started on tasks I resist doing. The journal entries are fast. I usually spend about five minutes. They don’t feel like extra work. They’re each structured for one goal, so they’re easy to apply. ”
