The Flagship: Close the Day
Even after we shut down work and our other daytime tasks, our brains are still trying to do three important things:
Sort what happened during the day
Predict what’s going to happen tomorrow
Protect us… from making mistakes, forgetting something important, failing, or getting hurt
Those are useful, necessary functions.
The problem is that they can stay active when parts of our day don’t feel finished… replaying conversations, our expanding to-do list for the next day, and worries that start feeling like a bigger deal at night.
This practice gives you a short process for helping your brain register that today is over, and that it’s complete enough to set down for now, so you can actually rest.
